(Mary Wright reads a letter from the residents of Gardenview.)
What a wonderful turnout we had for Mary Wright’s retirement party! Residents, staff, family and Board members all came together last week to honor and thank Mary for all she has done over the last 10 years for The Converse Home.
As many of you know, Mary has been an RN and nurse educator for nearly 50 years. It is estimated that she’s taught over 1,800 nurses over the span of her career at Fanny Allen School of Nursing, serving as the program’s director when it became part of the Vermont Technical College. Mary joined The Converse Home in 2006 as the supervisor in our newly establish memory care community, Gardenview, setting the standard for excellence in care giving. She became the staff educator for the Home several years later and was named the Staff Educator of the Year by the Vermont Health Care Association in 2012.
Anyone who has worked with or been cared for by Mary Wright knows that this woman was born to be a nurse. She has been our role model, our mentor and our friend. We wish Mary and her husband Mike, many years of happiness in their retirement!
(In recognition of Mary’s many contributions to The Converse Home, the staff education fund will be named in her honor.)
