Join Our Monthly Alzheimer’s Caregiver Support Group
Caring for someone with Alzheimer’s disease can be both meaningful and overwhelming. Caregivers often face emotional stress, uncertainty, and fatigue, all while trying to provide the best possible care for a loved one. At The Converse Home, we believe caregivers deserve support, understanding, and a welcoming place to connect with others who truly get it.
That is why The Converse Home hosts an Alzheimer’s Caregiver Support Group on the first Tuesday of every month at 5 p.m., offering a safe, supportive space for anyone seeking connection, shared experiences, and understanding.
Why Alzheimer’s Caregiver Support Matters
Alzheimer’s disease brings a range of challenges that evolve over time, affecting not only the individual diagnosed, but also the family members and caregivers who support them. Caregivers often experience isolation, burnout, and emotional strain as they manage changing behaviors, increasing care needs, and difficult decisions over time.
Support groups offer caregivers a space to share experiences, learn from others, and feel less alone. Research consistently shows that caregiver support can reduce stress, improve coping skills, and help caregivers feel more confident and supported in their role.
A Supportive Space for Caregivers
While each meeting is shaped by participant needs, discussions are guided by shared experiences and often include topics such as:
- Managing behavioral and cognitive changes
- Communication strategies for dementia care
- Coping with caregiver stress and burnout
- Planning for future care needs
- Accessing local and statewide support resources
Just as important as practical guidance is the emotional connection caregivers experience when they realize they are not navigating this journey alone.
